At Friars Lodge the focus is very much on the individual and respecting your choices, needs and wishes. Monthly key worker sessions give you the opportunity to discuss your care and to ensure you are 100% happy with the service provided.
Friars Lodge is in no way institutionalised, but really does offer a homely and relaxed atmosphere, where your independence is paramount. An open door policy means your friends and relatives can visit at any time, although we like to protect mealtimes if possible, to make sure you can enjoy the delicious home-cooked meals our full-time cook prepares each day.
We take our responsibilities seriously here at Friars Lodge and as such only employ qualified staff, to whom we offer regular training. Inspections are carried out annually by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Central Bedfordshire Compliance Officers. We have regular staff meetings to ensure all standards are being met and also organise relatives meetings, to hear what your family thinks about your care. We prepare a monthly newsletter for relatives with lots of information about Friars Lodge, our events and outings.
We cater for older people and also those suffering with dementia. We understand how big a decision it is to move out of your own home. Relocating can be hard for you and your family and so we do all that we can to make this as stress-free as possible, concentrating on your needs and wants, to make sure you are well and happy in your new home.
