We offer a wide range of activities across our care homes, helping our patients stay connected

Activities

Regardless of age, people need social interaction and regular activity to maintain a good level of general health. Across all our care homes we recognise the link between organised activities and wellbeing of our residents.

There are many benefits to injecting creativity and fun into co-ordinated activities, some of these are:

  • Boosts memory
  • Improves morale
  • Maintains a level of vocabulary
  • Being active can lesson any aches and pains and lift mood
  • Being active helps thinking skills such as decision making and problem solving

We actively involve our residents in planning a wide variety of activities that focus on their interests to maximise participation. Our team of staff put together daily activity plans that runs from 10am-4pm. Where possible we invite family members to come along and participate in our activity sessions as this has a positive effect on the welfare of our residents and combats loneliness.

Some of the activities we encourage our residents to take part in include:

  • Art
  • Bingo
  • Karaoke
  • Pet days
  • Piñata
  • Interactive games
  • Gardening
  • Outdoor recreational activity
  • Entertainer visits

We pride ourselves on using up to date technology across all four of our homes and encourage our residents to use the iPads and touch screens available to them.

At Janes Care Homes we believe life is for living. Our teams actively encourage independence within our properties and ensure all of our residents feel secure, comfortable and supported, whatever their needs are.

Our priority is to make individuals feel as welcome as possible. We keenly promote friends and family visiting at a time that suits each individual resident and we actively encourage independence within our homes. Our open house policy means that visitors can come whenever a resident wishes.
